Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life (Proverbs 4:23).
Your mind is the door to your human spirit. Whatever words and thoughts you allow to go through your mind unchecked will be deposited in your spirit. That’s why you have to screen and filter what goes through the door of your heart.
Everyday, we hear words, see things, and read all kinds of information, positive and negative. This is why you need that spiritual filter: you need to mount guard on your heart and not allow your spirit receive and process the wrong information.
Never allow your heart dwell on anything you hear, feel or see that is not consistent with the Word of God.
For example, if you heard that things were going bad in the economy and there’s hardship everywhere, such information is contrary to what the Word of God says, therefore refuse to process it in your spirit.
Refuse to let it run your life or determine the circumstances of your existence. Rather, you should say: “No!That’s not for me. I function in the realm of super-abundance because I’m a child of God and a joint heir with Jesus. Therefore I can never be poor or broke in my life.”
Reject the thoughts of fear, sickness, lack, sorrow, and struggle that comes from the world! Choose to embrace the thoughts of success, victory, health, prosperity, happiness, and fulfillment that come from God’s Word.
In conclusion, my friends, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable. Philippians 4: 8
