The Power of Joyful Confessions
Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.”
With joy, you will draw water from the wells of salvation. In that day you will say: “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted. Isaiah 12:2-4 NIV
Pressures of Life
Some Christians, in spite of their new nature in Christ, still live far below their calling. Some complain while others cringe when faced with pressures of life.
They haven’t learned how to make “joyful confessions” in the face of such situations. They still ask “Can happiness be measured? Will happiness find me? What happiness means?
Making a joyful confession doesn’t mean you’re boastful or braggadocios; rather you’re just making an open and bold declaration of what God has said about you.
You’re rejoicing over who you are, what you have, and what you can do in Christ.
It’s Really Important
For you to really enjoy the divine provisions of the Gospel made available to you, you must acknowledge and declare all that God has done for and in you.
Some go around looking for positive affirmation quotes and daily affirmation cards. This is because they have read about the power of affirmations.
But the word of God gives you exactly what to say.
In 2 Corinthians 8:9, the Word declares you rich through His grace. In 1 Corinthians 3:21, the Word says “…All things are yours”. 1 Peter 2:24 also declares you righteous and healed, because Jesus bore upon Himself your sins and healed you by His stripes.
So, it’s important that you constantly and openly declare: “I’m rich”; “I’m righteous”, “I’m healthy”.
You Will Have What You Say
In Mark 11 23, Jesus said you shall have what you say. therefore, keep talking joyfully! Learn to use your mouth to take possession of what’s already yours in Christ Jesus.
Keep declaring who you are in Him. Testify to what the Lord has done for you, in you, and through you!
Keep making those joyful confessions of God’s Word that reveal your identity, ability, and inheritance in Christ Jesus.
Let your confessions rule you.
Prayer
I’m what God says I am; His ability, grace, and power are working in me and through me mightily today! I have what God says I have, and I can do what He says I can do.
His Word to me is reality, and that’s the reason I know I’ll never be poor, sick, broke, or defeated! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
